Hair greying primarily results from damage caused by the exposome (the cumulative effect of all environmental and lifestyle-related factors a person is exposed to) as well as cellular ageing. Over time, melanocyte activity in hair decreases; melanocytes progressively lose their pigment-producing capability and produce less melanin until the hair turns completely white.

Certain external factors, including lifestyle choices, can also disrupt melanocyte function and accelerate hair greying by causing high and/or chronic oxidative stress.

ETHNE serum restores the natural colour of grey hair within 3–4 months of use. In laboratory studies, the SILVERFREE™ peptide increased melanin in hair follicles more than elevenfold and reduced oxidative stress by about 25%.

In four clinical studies with 84 female and male volunteers, a visible reduction in grey hair density was observed – at the temples by 32.4% on average after 3 months, and by up to 86% in individual participants – along with a gradual deepening of the original hair colour, which prevented the “regrowth effect”.

Repigmentation was recorded in every study – depending on the study and the area of the head, 68% to 100% of participants improved, about 81% on average at the temples. The strength of the effect is individual.

The effect was also long-lasting, with repigmentation maintained for at least 4 months after the last application of the product.

Effectiveness confirmed by studies

In tests, significant hair repigmentation was observed in dozens of participants. The repigmentation effect was independent of the application area, with notable results observed on the temples, crown, and back of the head.

All studies, conducted independently, consistently demonstrated a clear repigmentation effect in nearly all volunteers. The female test panel was smaller due to practical limitations, such as the requirement to cut hair to a length of 2 cm from the scalp for measurement purposes, acceptance of visible gray hair for several weeks, and avoidance of hair coloration treatments. Despite these constraints, repigmentation occurred in women similarly to men in most cases.

After several months of use, there was a significant reduction in gray hair density, an effect confirmed in nearly all study participants.
